Shockwave Therapy

Shockwave therapy or EPAT, extracoporeal pulse activation technology, is a non-invasive treatment that uses high-energy sound waves to stimulate the body’s natural healing processes. It’s highly effective for treating a variety of musculoskeletal conditions, especially those involving chronic pain or slow-healing injuries. Common diagnoses treated with shockwave therapy include plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendinopathy, tennis or golfer’s elbow, rotator cuff tendinopathy, and other stubborn soft-tissue injuries.

The treatment works by increasing blood flow and stimulating collagen production, which helps repair damaged tissue and reduce inflammation. Patients often experience reduced pain, improved mobility, and faster recovery times, sometimes even after just a few sessions.

Research recommends doing 1 session/week for 3-5 total sessions. Treatments are administered by our team of Physical Therapists, who will also assist you in a rehab plan to complement the shockwave sessions. Shockwave therapy is a safe, evidence-based option for people looking to avoid surgery or long-term medication use while addressing the root cause of their pain.
