Revo Physiotherapy & Sports Performance FAQ
Insurance & Pricing
Does Revo Physiotherapy accept insurance? Revo Physiotherapy and Sports Performance operates as an out-of-network provider. We do not contract directly with insurance companies. Instead, we collect payment at the time of service and provide you with a "Superbill"—a detailed medical receipt that you can submit to your insurance carrier for potential reimbursement. We choose this model because it allows our Doctors of Physical Therapy to provide one-on-one care for a full 60 minutes, focusing entirely on your recovery rather than insurance-dictated restrictions.
Why should I go out-of-network for physical therapy? Choosing an out-of-network clinic like Revo ensures that your care is determined by a medical expert, not an insurance adjuster. In many standard in-network clinics, therapists are forced to see multiple patients at once to meet quotas. At Revo, you receive 100% of your therapist’s attention for the entire hour. This often leads to faster recovery times, fewer total visits, and a more personalized plan that gets you back to your sport stronger than before.
Do you accept HSA or FSA cards? Yes, we accept Health Savings Account (HSA) and Flexible Spending Account (FSA) cards for all physical therapy services. This is a great way to use your pre-tax health dollars for high-quality care.
Getting Started (Access & Logistics)
Do I need a doctor's referral to see a physical therapist in Colorado? No, you do not need a referral. Colorado is a "Direct Access" state, which means you can schedule an appointment directly with our physical therapists without seeing a physician first. This saves you time and money, allowing you to start treatment immediately after an injury.
Where is Revo Physiotherapy located? We have two convenient locations in Colorado. Our Boulder office is located at 2540 Frontier Ave, Suite 101, Boulder, CO 80301. If you are closer to the city, we also have a Denver location. Both facilities are equipped with our full suite of gym equipment and recovery tools.
How do I book an appointment? You can book an appointment directly through our website using our online scheduling portal. If you are unsure which provider or service is right for you, you can call our office at (720) 504-5835 or email info@revoptboulder.com, and our team will help guide you.
Services & Treatment
What makes Revo different from a regular PT clinic? Revo bridges the gap between rehabilitation and sports performance. We don't just treat pain; we build durable athletes. Unlike traditional clinics that rely on heat packs and basic stretches, we utilize a high-performance gym environment, 3D Motion Capture technology, and Force Plate testing to gather objective data on your movement. Our team includes Board-Certified Sports Clinical Specialists (SCS) who understand the demands of high-level athletics.
Do I have to be a professional athlete to come to Revo? Not at all. While we treat professional athletes and Olympians, we work with active individuals of all levels—from youth athletes and weekend warriors to people simply wanting to move without pain. If you have a goal to improve your movement or recover from an injury, you are an athlete to us.
What specific injuries do you treat? We treat a wide range of orthopedic and sports-related injuries, including ACL tears and post-op rehab, rotator cuff injuries, runner’s knee, plantar fasciitis, low back pain, and tendonitis. We also specialize in complex cases where patients have failed to see results at other clinics.
What is the "Sports Science Lab" at Revo? Our Sports Science Lab is where we use advanced technology to measure what the naked eye cannot see. We use high-speed 3D motion capture to analyze your running gait or throwing mechanics, EMG sensors to measure muscle activation, and Force Plates to quantify your power and balance. This data allows us to create precise, science-backed treatment plans rather than guessing what might be wrong.
Do you offer Personal Training or Strength Classes? Yes! We believe that strength is the best injury prevention. We offer Personal Training with Strength & Conditioning Coaches and even Doctors of Physical Therapy. We also host small group classes, such as our Mountain Bike Strength Training, designed to get you ready for the specific demands of your sport.
Specialized Treatments
What is Blood Flow Restriction (BFR) training? Blood Flow Restriction (BFR) is a specialized training method we use to help you build muscle and strength while using very light weights. By safely restricting venous blood flow, we can trick the body into creating a high-intensity response without placing heavy stress on injured joints or surgical sites. It is a game-changer for post-operative recovery, especially for ACL rehab and tendon injuries.
Do you offer Dry Needling? Yes, our physical therapists are certified in Functional Dry Needling. This technique uses thin monofilament needles to target trigger points in tight muscles, helping to release tension, decrease pain, and improve mobility. It is often combined with corrective exercises for the best results.
Can you help with bike fitting? Absolutely. We offer professional medical bike fits using our expertise in biomechanics. We don't just adjust the bike to the "standard" settings; we adjust the bike to fit your unique body and injury history. This is ideal for cyclists experiencing knee pain, back pain, or numbness during rides.
